The BTA’s Judging List is in 5 parts: A1, A2, A3, B & C. The minimum qualifications for each part is as follows
with the inclusion of the agreement to write & submit a critique to the Canine Press & the Association.

A1 List:
Persons who have previously been approved to award CCs to Bedlington Terriers by the Kennel Club [K.C.],
have carried out the appointment and have the support of the Bedlington Terrier Association [BTA].

A2 List:
Persons who fulfil the requirements for the A3 List, have been assessed in accordance with K.C. requirements,
have the support of the BTA and, if invited to Judge by a Society, would in principal be approved by the K.C.
to award CCs in Bedlington Terriers for that occasion.

A3 List ~ Breed Specialist:
 1. To have a minimum of 7 years experience Judging Bedlington Terriers and have the support of the BTA.
 2. To have Judged at 1 BTA or Bedlington Club Show or 1 Championship Show without CCs.
 3. To have Judged Bedlington Terriers at 5 Open Shows.
 4. To have Judged a minimum of 30 Classes of Bedlington Terriers.
 5. To have Judged a minimum of 60 dogs.
 6. To have bred and/or owned a minimum of 3 Bedlington Terriers when they obtained their first entry into the
     K.C. Stud Book. [save in exceptional circumstances].
 7. To have attended at least 1 Bedlington Terrier specific seminar run in accordance with the K.C. Code of best Practice.
 8. To have attended a seminar given by a K.C. Accredited Trainer and to have passes the relevant examination
     on K.C. Regulations and Judging Procedures.
 9. To have attended a seminar given by a K.C. Accredited Trainer on Conformation & Movement.
10. To have attended a Conformation & Movement “Hands on Assessment” conducted by a K.C. Accredited Trainer
     and passed the assessment.
11. To have Stewarded over a minimum of 12 days at Shows.
12. To have been actively involved in Breeding and Exhibiting Bedlington Terriers for a minimum of 10 years.

A3 List ~ Non Breed Specialist:
 1. To have a minimum of 7 years judging experience in any breed (to include 5 years judging Bedlington Terriers)
     and have the support of the Bedlington Terrier Association.
 2. To have judged at 1 Bedlington Association Club Show or 1 Championship show without CCs.
 3. To have judged Bedlington Terriers at 5 Open Shows.
 4. To have judged a minimum of 40 classes of Bedlington Terriers To have judged a minimum of 80 dogs
 5. To have awarded CC’s in at least one other breed
 6. To have attended at least one Bedlington Terrier specific seminar run in accordance with the Kennel Club
     Code of Best Practice and have passed an examination and /or assessment where applicable.
 7. To have stewarded over a minimum of 12 days at shows.
 8. To have bred and/or owned a minimum of 3 dogs of any breed when they obtained their first entry into the Kennel
     Club Stud Book. (save in exceptional circumstances)

B list:
For judges who have been approved by the BTA to judge at shows without CC’s or Open Shows and be suitable
to judge at least four classes of Bedlingtons Terriers.

Breed Specialist:
 1. To have 7 years experience owning and exhibiting Bedlington Terriers and have the support of the BTA.
 2. To have judged 12 classes of Bedlingtons at Open Shows or Championship Shows without CCs.
 3. To have judged 24 Bedlington Terriers.
 4. To have attended 1 Bedlington Terrier judging seminar and passed an assessment.

Non Breed Specialist:
 1. To have a minimum of 7 years judging experience in any one breed, 3 years in Bedlington Terriers, and to have
     the support of the Bedlington Terrier Association.
 2. To have judged 16 classes of Bedlington Terriers at Open Shows or Championship Shows without CCs.
 3. To have judged 32 Bedlington Terriers.
 4. To have attended 1 Bedlington Terrier judging seminar and passed an assessment.
 5. To have attended Bedlington Association Shows would be considered an asset.

C List:
Aspirant Judges who have shown an interest in the breed, have attended BTA Shows and have the support of the BTA.
